CRESCERE A USSEGLIO
Si è rivelato un piacevole e stimolante impegno nel 2007 fotografare gli adolescenti in una comunità alpina, Usseglio, piccolo comune di circa 200 abitanti a pochi chilometri da Torino.
Le fotografie nascono per corredare il libro Crescere a Usseglio, ideato da Bruno Guglielmotto Ravet allora presidente della Società Storica delle Valli di Lanzo.
Tutti gli scatti vengono realizzati en plein air, con lo sfondo di una grande lastra di ferro ossidato appoggiata ad un vecchio muro.
I ragazzi, con la loro disinvoltura nell’indossare i costumi originali degli avi, dimostrano quanto sia per loro naturale l’orgoglioso attaccamento alle tradizioni e racconta Isaia: “E’ l’album di una comunità, di un mondo ancora vivo, simpatico e spensierato, che ricordo con immenso piacere”.
GROWING UP IN USSEGLIO
It turned out to be a pleasant and stimulating commitment in 2007 to photograph teenagers in an alpine community, Usseglio, a small town of about 200 inhabitants a few kilometers from Turin.
The photographs were created to accompany the book Growing up in Usseglio, conceived by Bruno Guglielmotto Ravet, then president of the Historical Society of the Lanzo Valleys. All the shots are taken en plein air, with the background of a large sheet of oxidized iron leaning against an old wall.
The boys, with their ease in wearing the original costumes of their ancestors, demonstrate how natural the proud attachment to traditions is for them and Isaia recounts: "It is the album of a community, of a world that is still alive, pleasant and carefree, which I remember with immense pleasure”.
